Cultivating My Fulfillment / with Jackie Shyu

Jackie is a master storyteller because she understands the emotional impact of every detail. Through her lens, we learned the way materials dictate the color and color dictates connection. Starting as an engineer, Jackie gained a technical foundation of materials that she now uses to form the precise experience customers will have with the products she touches. Our conversation with her showed exactly why it is so important for this specialty to be its own job and not lumped in under the average designer’s responsibilities. CMF demands entirely it’s own depth of knowledge and understanding that is aligned with but independent of the designers objectives. We felt incredibly lucky to learn about this world with Jackie as she brings unparalleled intention to the way she moves through the world- be it her care for customers or prioritization of her family.
